The analysis tool was developed on a model that calculates the consumption of a website based on the amount of data required to view it on a browser, or the amount of data transferred between server and client while browsing. These data are then compared with a curve that provides a percentage classification of this consumption.
The approach used to develop the architecture of the tool was to put the size of the tool and the low impact on consumption as key points.

Environmental Impact Audit

Based on measurable data, it generates a unique and comparable output taking these 4 steps into consideration

    Carbon emissions measurement parameterized to the transfer of data via cable during the loading of a web page, calculating the amount of electricity associated, and then

Benchmark Setting

We set up and analyze the benchmarks based on the best practices and global parameters of efficiency and performance of best managed digital presences in the World. We set up a global based on shared knowledge comparating to global reference values and to internal parameters of the website or a previous version
of the same website. We proceed to set up and measure the “Pollution Score”, a degree of measurement of the potential
pollutant of a website, set between 0 and 100.

AI & UX Analysis

We analyze the user experience parameters from a Sustainable Web Design
perspective, as relevant for the use of the site (Pageviews) and for the efficiency and effectiveness of the digital presence

Code Compressing development strategy

Analysis on how the software language and the software architecture processes informations and monitoring their impacts on CPU usage both at local and
at servers level with the aim to foster a conscious choice in terms of sustainability of the programming language
and a more precise environmental impact measurement.

Green Hosting

Evaluation of both position and powering of data centers used by the website or web app, with a focus on
the energy sources used (a data center that uses a significant portion of the energy of any website,
the location of the data center in a low-carbon area will reduce significantly
its carbon emissions are tangible), while analyzing the geo location of the relevant users to avoid geographic dispersion.
